INTOXIMETER DMT Desktop Alcohol Breath Testing Device


   This accurate and precise breath testing device pictured above, provides results meeting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's  specifictions for Evidence Breath Test Devices.          

Mini-COMPACT RAMS - 25 lbs, 16 inch

  Below is a tactical entry tool used to breach confined spaces to obtain access to criminals, as well as victims during operations such as hostage situations and school shootings.  When speed of entry is more important than preventing property damage, police will use these to breach obstructions such as locked doors and windows.     The "Friends of the Force" has reimbursed the Township for the purchase of seven of these tools, one for each patrol car. 


        AXON Body Worn Cameras for every officer

These cameras automatically activate when an officer turns on police lights, and when an officer draws a fire arm or Taser.  When an officer draws his weapon, all on-scene officers' cameras activate.  They can improve officer performance and civilian conduct while holding everyone accountable for their actions.


ANNUAL SUPPLIMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING

This additional online training opportunity is provided through PoliceOne Academy and reimbursed to the Township by the FOF. It is accessable online and provides flexilility for the officers by allowing them to complete courses at times that fit into their varied schedules.  These courses are approved by the PA Municipal Police Officer's Educational and Training Commission.

Examples of some of the 400 topics covered include:   

Recognizing emotional and psycological disorders, responding to people with mental illnesses, active shooter situations, narcotics enforcement, the importance of communication in law enforcement, handling terrorism and gang situations


30 INCH HALLIGAN FORCE ENTRY TOOLS 

Police sometimes in the line of duty might be required to breach locked doors, windows, and even walls. Four of these emergency response tools were purchased by the FOF for the WLTPD.  These multipurpose tools allow for emergency entry into secured buildings and vehicles.  They can be used to pry open padlocks and break windows.


LEXAN BODY SHIELDS           

  They serve as a strong protective barrier against impact, corrosive chemicals, body fluids, and electric shock hazards. 


                                         

  ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICES (TASERS)

The FOF purchased one for each of our officers  They can temporarily immobilize a combative or resisting arrest individual.


POWER DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The Friends of the Force agreed to reimburse West Lampeter Township for its purchase of a software package called Power Data Management System. 

POWER DMS will save the police department a tremendous amount of time, frustration and resources as they continually work to accurately maintain the many Federal, State, and Department Policies.  It improves accuracy and efficiency making certain all our officers have access to the same policies and current procedures at their finger tips.  This system also decreases printing and paper costs and can help protect the Department from wrongful termination lawsuits.


TWO 60 INCH MONITORS AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE

These units are mounted in the squad room. The top unit provdes a contant stream of current news coverage. The bottom unit  monitors the surveillance cameras for the holding cell and Lancaster County Dispatch.  The large screens can easily be viewed from anywhere in the squad room. 


POCKET JET THERMAL PRINTERS FOR EACH SQUAD CAR

These printers interface with the GETAC F110 tablets. Both pieces of equipment are mounted securely on the docking station.  Traffic citations can be conveiniently printed right from the squad car elininating handwritten tickets, greaty improving accuracy, and efficiency.


PET MICROCHIP SCANNER

This scanner gives our officers the capibility to scan missing pets that are chipped and help in getting then back to their rightful owner.  1 in 3 pets go missing in their lifetime and without a proper ID, 90% never return home.


PUBLIC LOCKOUT TOOL KITS IN EVERY SQUAD CAR

These kits can be lifsavers when your child or pet is accidently locked in the car.  On a summer day the inside temperatures of a car can reach 120 degrees quickly leading to dehydration and possibly death.  These kits make unlocking a car door quick and easy with no damage to the door or weather stripping 


TWO PROGRAMABLE SPEED ALERT MESSAGE SIGNS

These signs assist in gathering vital traffic data and can be programmed to display traffic and roadway conditions ahead.  They can be placed on existing poles, sign posts, and vehicle hitches.  Often used at locations where the radar trailer is too wide for road conditions. 


The Friends of the Force reimbursed the Township for the upgrades to the passenger containment area in all of the patrol vehicles. 

Included was the installation of durable molded plastic seat covers.  They allow for easy cleaning and sanitizing.  Their seamless construction eliminates gaps and crevaces where drugs and evidence might other wise be hidden as in a standard seat.  There is a centerpull seat belt system that allows for the safely securing of a passenger without jeopardizing the officer.


ULTRASONIC CLEANER AND LUBE TANK

Provides efficient cleaning of the long guns while the officers are freed up to do more important work.  Valuable resources are not used in the required time needed to clean the weapons.


NIKON D5000 DIGITAL CAMERA

Stores and saves evidence at accident and crime scenes that can be used in a court of law.  It has the capability to produce panaramic shots as well as detailed closeups such as fingerprints.


NEW CLASS B WORKING UNIFORMS

These uniforms are more durable and better suited for the various field environments our officers are placed in.  While more rugged in design, they still project a practical street friendly, but at the same time a professional appearance.

These quick reference guide  books are an essential tool for all Pennsylvania law enforcement officers.  Each one of our officers can easily carry their own guide in the trouser pockets of their new class B uniforms.

NIGHT VISION MONOCULAR OPTIC

This is the department's first hi-tech night vision optic device.  It is indispensable for locating lost individuals or suspects at a great distance in limited lighting conditions


14 LED SNAP ON TACTICAL LIGHTS

These can be easily mounted on hand-held weapons, enabling enhanced illumination for officers in darkened environments.  They allow for more positive identification of potential offenders and innocent bystanders.


TWO DRUNK BUSTER PEDAL KARTS FOR DUI TRAINING

These Karts are used by the WL School Resource Officer to allow the students to safely drive on a simulated course "sober", then while "impaired" wearing special goggles.  The goggles distort the user's vision and replicate the effects of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  As in real life situations, the participants begin with complete control of the Kart, but then become impaired while wearing the goggles and is not 100% in control,
