Friends of the Force
Friends of the West Lampeter Township Police Department

Silent auction for donated painting information.

Pictured above is local resident Roy Peters and WLTPD Chief Brian Wiczkowski. They are holding the painting of the Hans Herr House by Roy that he donated to the department in appreciation for the quick response by the police in a emergency situation at his residence.

Roy says that "April 15, 2016 is a day I will always remember.  The table saw had made a mess of my left hand and my wife called 911.  Almost immediately a West Lampeter Township Police cruiser pulled up into the driveway.  The car door was open almost before it stopped and first responder Corporal Jeremy Schroeder shouted, I have a tourniquet."

"He assured me with his confidence and words of concern as he tended to my injury.  Later I learned that the tourniquet was a military style and had just been given to the WLTPD by the non-profit "Friends of the Force" (FOF).  Having this equipment at the time surely made the job easier to handle," said Peters.

"Thanks again Corporal Schroeder and thanks to the FOF for empowering him to do his job professionally and efficiently," Peters added.

The Friends of the Force will be holding an on-line silent auction through August 1 at 7PM which is when National Night Out is held.  Anyone wishing to place a bid on the painting can do so online by e-mailing their bid to:

jimkulp@verizon.net

Please include name, bid amount, telephone number, and your address.

The highest bid received so far is $400.  All proceeds raised will be used to purchase needed police equipment.

The painting may be viewed in person at the West Lampeter Township Office June 21 to July 3, at Darrenkamps 106 Willow Valley Square July 6 to 16th, and again at the West Lampeter Township Office July 17-31st.  The painting will also be on display at the FOF National Night Out booth on August 1 at the Lampeter Fairgrounds.  Final bids will be accepted up until 7PM that evening
